What can I tell you about Sandy’s? If you want cold beer, a great burger, and an atmosphere that is beyond what you are used to, this is the place. A true neighborhood experience. A small town feel in the big city. Nestled on the corner of 66th and Penn in Richfield, MN. Sandy’s is the little place that could. It’s the only place I’ve seen where a half million dollar a year stockbroker can be sitting next to a plumber who is next to a punk rocker, and their all having a good conversation and an ice cold beer. A safe place with no pressures of the so called “big” places. |
Sandy’s has had many stories attached to her. It was built in the 30’s by Sandy himself. (Yes, Sandy was a man.) He built it to look like an old farmhouse, because back then Richfield was all farm land and Prohibition was in full swing. Penn Avenue was nothing but a dirt road. Sandy passed away in the very bar that still is his namesake. This has lead to the other stories of Sandy’s being haunted! There are many tales of Sandy pulling a few spooky pranks! |
In 1980, Deb and Eric bought her and added our famous kitchen. In recent years, we have won several awards for the best burger and it is still known for our world famous olive burger. Don’t be afraid to use your hands, because we don’t do silverware. That’s why we have plenty of napkins to wipe away the juice. Don’t forget our selection of ice cold beer, In the bottle, on tap, or by the pitcher. Also make sure to bring your wallet or checkbook, because we are old school and don’t take “plastic”. So stop on in to Sandy’s Tavern where everyday is special, and every hour is happy!!!
